Pamper yourself at home! You don’t need a Spa in order to relax and pamper yourself. If you are on tight budget or short on time there are many things you can do right at home.
In previous posts I shared how to make yogurt at home and use it for masks and other beauty treatments. Now I will share one of my favorites to relax at home. Time for a bubble bath!
I start by making my own scented bath salts with aromatherapy. The salts with hold the essential oils and spread them more evenly and slowly in the bath water. It is more therapeutic that way. I use 5-10 max drops in half a cup of Epsom Salt. The salt will do wonders for your muscles. Here we are using ancient wisdom in our modern world. Salt has been used for purification in almost every ancient culture. The essential oils will further the experience depending on your purpose for the bath. For general relaxation Lavender is the most used. It is a safe soothing oil that can even be used by pregnant women.
If there seems to be a dark cloud over you and things just seem to not go right no matter how hard you try it may well be that you need some extra purification. We know there are people out there who can send negative intentions our way, anger, jealousy, envy and such. For that type of purification I like to use eucalyptus oil. This is a strong oil so I use only a few drops. Now, if you are feeling kind of “down”, sad or depressed go for sweet orange or mandarin. If a more spiritual experience is what you are looking for I would use sandalwood or patchouli. If you are ready to open your heart to love, try Chamomile. Have you seen a chamomile flower? It just puts its’ center out there! Like it is offering her heart.
Make this relaxing time special! You deserve it! Light some candles, make the bathroom beautiful, throw some rose petals and use that bubble bath! Go all out!
There are many choices of brands for essential oils out there. My advice is that you research the company first to make sure they harvest the plants in a sustainable ethical way. Sandalwood is going extinct in India because it takes many years for a tree to reach maturity and people are cutting them down faster than they can grow back because of the high demand. There are many oils out there that are not real essential oils. Real essential oils are not cheap. If you have any questions leave a comment.
