Juice Fast is good for you to do once in a while. It is one of the effective ways to do a complete detox. You consume nothing but 100% natural juice that you make it yourself using pure water (like mineral spring water) and organic fruits and vegetables. If you can it is better to do fruit first. Especially fruits that have lots of water and fiber like watermelon, melons and even cucumbers. They hydrate and help you clean out your digestive track. Then you move on to vegetables which will fill you up with vitamins and nutrients that are essential for good health like vitamins A, C, D, E and K and nutrients like calcium, iron and magnesium.
Put in your juicer about 2 carrots, 3 large kale leaves and 1/2 grapefruit per person. I like to share the health so I always make more and everyone loves getting some fresh juice! Especially in the morning.
This carrot, kale and grapefruit combination is a great example. But remember that the most important part of a detox is cutting out all processed foods, and stay away from alcohol, coffee, smoking, or eating white flour and white sugar. If you can manage to cut out those things as a first step, then you are doing good. For someone who has never done a detox before I recommend starting small. Try a week without having any alcoholic drinks, soda, or coffee. That will be great! Then grow from there and when the next season comes around cut one more thing, like sugar or cows milk. You don’t need to do a complete detox in your first time, since that can be scary. Just start where you are comfortable and then push.
